US Supreme Court 'is acting in a way that no court has acted before' • FRANCE 24 English

FRANCE24, 28 Jun 2022

The court ruled 6-3 along ideological lines for the coach. The justices said the coach's prayer was protected by the First Amendment. The case forced the justices to wrestle with how to balance the religious and free speech rights of teachers and coaches with the rights of students not to feel pressured into participating in religious practices. For more analysis on the latest Supreme Court rulings FRANCE 24 is joined by Ian Reifowitz, Distinguished Professor of Historical Studies at Empire State College of the State University of New York.
