Officials from the Uvalde, Texas school district are expected to hold a press conference on Thursday, following the tragic mass shooting at an elementary school in the area that left 19 students dead, as well as two faculty members.

This comes after the school district police chief, Pete Arredondodid, was criticized for waiting too long before law enforcement confronted and killed the gunman during the mass shooting.

Also, Arredondodid did not appear at a city council meeting in Uvalde on Tuesday, despite being newly elected to the panel.
