A French sailor was saved by the Spanish coastguard after 16 hours trapped in his capsized ship. The 62-year-old managed to find an air bubble inside his ship from where he sent out a distress call late on Sunday just off the coast of north-west Spain. The seas where rough and the coastguard attached buoyancy aides to prevent sinking in a mission they described as 'verging on the impossible'.
